Pfleiderer in the final of the Good Design 2017 competition

10 sierpnia 2017

It is already certain — we are in the final! Experts of the Institute of Industrial Design (IWP) have qualified two concepts of Pfleiderer’s company for the final stage of the Good Design 2017 competition. The Duropal-HPL SolidColor XTreme laminate and the design collection of three exceptional decors: F73034 Reed Blue, F73051 Texwood White, and F76069 Houndstooth Grey, have been ranked among the 114 best-designed products on the Polish market.

The winners of Good Design 2017 will be announced on 26 October. The next day — on 27 October — a post-competition exhibition, featuring all award-winning designs, will be launched. This exhibition will be the largest design exhibition in Poland. Housed in the IWP building at 5/7 Świętojerska Street in Warsaw, it will be open to 3 December, from Tuesday to Sunday. Free admission.

Absolute matt — even on the edges

What makes Pfleiderer’s solutions so exceptional? And what caught the attention of IWP experts? The Duropal SolidColor XTreme laminate enchants with its absolutely matt, anti-reflective surface. Warm and “soft”, it compels you to touch it. And this applies to the entire surface of a piece of furniture or an interior structure — even to the edges, as the perfectly-matched core colour in Duropal SolidColor XTreme enabled obtaining a monochromatic design without conspicuous edges and grooves. Moreover, the solution offers a range of functional advantages. It is very durable, easy to clean, and exceptionally resistant to greasy stains and fingerprints (the Anti-Finger-Print property).

Three decors from the Pink House world

The Pfleiderer Design Collection is a successful combination of imagination, craftsmanship, and the highest quality. These three extraordinary decors will surely be appreciated by anyone who looks for new, original solutions.

Texwood White (F73051) combines the patterns of wood and textiles, merging the classical with the imaginative. The stripe grain with incisions on rings in combination with a fine mesh structure creates a unique, extraordinary effect. The subtle interplay of colours and the high precision turned out to be a recipe for intriguing elegance.

The characteristic background of Reed Blue (F73034) with its randomly distributed colour intensity is an option for the bold. The marked contrast between the background and the scratch lines is further accentuated by the distinct graphic structure, which cannot be softened even by the delicate pastel colours.

Houndstooth Grey (F76069), in turn, is a classic textile pattern combined with an original mesh structure. Both elegant and austere, it is perfect for furniture fronts, structural elements in private houses, and for use in public facilities.

To recognise the best

The main purpose of the “Good Design” competition, organised by the Institute of Industrial Design since 1993, is to distinguish products and services characterised by high-quality design and to support their manufacturers and distributors. The GOOD DESIGN 2017 main awards are presented in nine categories: Home, Working Environment, Public Space, Services, New Technologies, Graphics Design and Packaging, New Materials, Transport and communication, and Fashion and Accessories.
